The neonatal ambulance (108) service for shifting newborns of 0 to 20 days was launched in the district on Thursday.
The service, which was available only in metro cities like Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore, was introduced for the first time in the district. Collector K. Nanthakumar flagged it off.
